Release Upgrade Summary (2020)
This article provides a summary of all new features and enhancements per Zscaler cloud for the Zscaler Client Connector Portal. Zscaler will email a notification to your organization's registered support contacts approximately one week before your cloud is upgraded. To see scheduled maintenance updates for your cloud, visit the Trust Portal.
The following service updates were deployed to mobile.zscaler.net on the following dates.
November 13, 2020
- Release Available
Zscaler Client Connector Portal 3.17.5
- Supports posture checks for detecting the ownership of the device. To learn more, see Configuring Device Posture Profiles for ZPA.
- Includes support for DTLS 1.2 protocol.
- Allows you to enable or disable the automatic population of the username field in your organization’s IdP login form. To learn more, see Configuring Automatic Username Population for IdP Authentication.
- Supports bypassing applications for Z-Tunnel 2.0 configuration in the app profile. To learn more, see Configuring Zscaler Client Connector Profiles and About Application Bypass Info.
- Supports forwarding the user traffic to a dedicated proxy port through Zscaler Client Connector.
- Supports inclusion and exclusion of DNS domains in the app profile for Z-Tunnel 2.0 configuration. To learn more, see Configuring Zscaler Client Connector Profiles.
- Allows you to save and restore the system proxy settings via the app profile. To learn more, see Configuring Zscaler Client Connector Profiles.
- Includes multiple custom Time Range filters and options to search for audit entries based on Client IP, Resource, or Admin ID in the Audit Logs page. You can also export the audit entries. Audit logs are now stored for up to 6 months. To learn more, see About Audit Logs.
- Supports adding ports in the Destination Exclusions field for the macOS app profile. To learn more, see Configuring Zscaler Client Connector Profiles.
- Supports Machine Tokens, which provides authentication capabilities for Windows devices. You can use Machine Tokens in Zscaler Client Connector profile rules for Windows. To use this feature, you need to configure Machines groups and Machine Provisioning keys in the ZPA Admin Portal.
- Supports tracking of devices using Machine Tunnels.

- Release Available
Zscaler Client Connector Portal 3.17.4
- Zscaler Client Connector now supports automatic reauthentication attempts for users with ZPA. For more information, see Configuring Automatic ZPA Reauthentication.
- Zscaler Client Connector now allows you to register a device in the Zscaler Client Connector Portal with the ZPA authentication username. For more information, see Registering Devices with ZPA IdP Username.

Zscaler Client Connector Portal 3.17.4
- Zscaler App (Z App) was renamed to Zscaler Client Connector within the portal.
- Zscaler Client Connector now includes single sign-on support for the Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX) service.
- Adds support to assign app profiles to individual users.
- Reports when users with an iOS device disable On Demand for the VPN setting.
- Fixes an issue where Zscaler Client Connector displayed the wrong username for a different authenticated user ID.
- The Zscaler Client Connector profile now allows up to 12 k characters in the Hostname Or IP Address Bypass For VPN Gateway field. To learn more, see Configuring Zscaler Client Connector Profiles.

Zscaler Client Connector Portal 3.17.3
- Updates the digital signatures for Zscaler Client Connector (formerly Zscaler App or Z App) policy response payload.
- Improves the Update Settings for Zscaler Client Connector automatic rollout. When you have the Always Latest Version auto-update option enabled, now your devices are updated over a period of time. To learn more, see Configuring Update Settings for Zscaler Client Connector.

Zscaler Client Connector Portal 3.17.2
- When you create a new Zscaler Client Connector (formerly Zscaler App or Z App) profile rule or delete a group from an existing one, the Zscaler Client Connector profiles policy now assigns rules to no groups by default. Before this release, it assigned rules to all groups by default. To learn more, see Configuring Zscaler Client Connector Profiles.
- Adds support for using multiple identity providers with the ZIA service.
- Fixes an issue where sometimes automatic device removal did not work and devices became stuck in the Device Removal Pending state.
