About Zscaler Client Connector-Based End User Notifications

You can customize the messages for Zscaler Client Connector-based notifications that are displayed for end users when their activities trigger specific web security policies configured in Internet & SaaS such as inline web Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint DLP, and Cloud App Control policies. These end user notifications (EUNs) are triggered by Internet & SaaS based on your policy configuration and are issued by the Zscaler Client Connector service that is installed on the users' endpoints.

Zscaler Client Connector EUNs provides the following benefits and allows you to:

  • Enable the use of customized notification messages on a per policy rule basis by creating custom messages in addition to modifying default messages.
  • Create and manage Zscaler Client Connector-based EUNs for various security policies in a single location and enhance your user experience by fully customizing the notification messages with a unified look and feel.

Zscaler Client Connector EUNs come preconfigured with default notification messages for each type of policy, which can be customized to suit your requirements. In addition to the default messages, you can configure multiple custom notification messages for each type of policy and select different notification messages for individual policy rules. By configuring custom messages, you can provide context-sensitive information for end users based on the DLP rule that is matched and enforced. For example, you can configure separate rules and display different notification messages for your partners and your organization users. You can customize various elements of the notification, including the notification message for different policy actions, company name, logo, information displayed on the notification, duration of the notification, and more.

A maximum of 64 custom messages is supported across policies for an organization. To learn more, see Ranges & Limitations.

About the Client Connector EUN Page

On the Client Connector EUN page (Policies > Common Configuration > Resources > End User Notifications > Client Connector), you can do the following:

  1. Add a new custom notification message for inline web DLP, Endpoint DLP, and Cloud App Control policies.
  2. View a list of all notification messages. For each notification message, you can see:

    • Channel: The type of policy or the category within a policy for which the notification message is configured. For example, Cloud App Control is a type of policy whereas Network Share is a category within the Endpoint DLP policy.
    • Name: The name of the notification message. Default notifications can be identified by their name.

You can sort the list by either of these fields.

  3. Edit or delete a notification message.

Default notification messages cannot be deleted. If a custom message that is currently used in one or more policies is deleted, the default notification message for the corresponding channel is automatically assigned to those policies.

  4. Modify the table and its columns.
  5. Search for a notification message.
  6. Configure the notification settings that are shared by all Zscaler Client Connector-based EUNs.
  7. Filter the notification list by a specific type of policy or a category within the policy. The All option displays notification messages configured across the supported policies.
  8. Go to the Browser EUN page.
