Managing Event Groups

Event groups enable admins to group individual events together so that all of them can be managed in one place. Admins can map event groups to one or more of the attributes available in an event.

Event groups are also used to map the priority for events. To learn more, see Managing Priorities for Events.

On the Event Group page, admins can:

  • To add an event group:

    1. Go to Event Group > Event Groups. The Event Groups page appears, listing all the event groups for your organization.
    2. On the Event Groups page, click Add More. The Add Event Group page appears.
    3. On the Add Event Group page:

      • Type: Select an existing type from the drop-down menu, or click Add Type to enter a new type for the event group. The type is added to the drop-down menu and is available for selection.

      • Name: Enter the name for the event group.
      • (Optional) Description: Enter a description of the event group.
      • (Optional) Select the Save and create mapping checkbox if you want to proceed to mapping the event group on the Event Group Mapping page.

    4. Click Save.

  • To add an event group mapping:

    1. Go to Event Group > Event Groups. The Event Groups page appears, listing all the event groups for your organization.
    2. On the Event Groups page, click the Add icon for an event group.

      The Event Group Mapping page appears, displaying an expanded row for the event group.

    3. On the Event Group Mappings page, add the event group mapping for the event group.

    Only admins with full access to Workflow Automation can map an event group.

  • To edit an event group:

    1. Go to Event Group > Event Groups. The Event Groups page appears, listing all the event groups for your organization.
    2. (Optional) On the Event Groups page, use the Search field to locate the event group you want to edit.
    3. Click the Edit icon for an event group.

    4. On the Edit Event Group page, change any of the fields.
    5. Click Save.

    To delete the event group, click Delete on the Edit Event Group page. If the event group is mapped, the event group mappings must be deleted before you can delete the event group.

  • To view event groups:

    Go to Event Group > Event Groups. The Event Groups page appears, listing all the event groups for your organization.

    For event groups, you can view the following information:

    • Event Group Type: The type of event group.
    • Event Group Name: The name of the event group.

  • To view the mapping for an event group:

    1. Go to Event Group > Event Groups. The Event Groups page appears, listing all the event groups for your organization.
    2. On the Event Groups page, click the View icon for an event group.

      The Event Group Mappings page appears, displaying the mapping for the event group.

  • To view event group details:

    1. Go to Event Group > Event Groups. The Event Groups page appears, listing all the event groups for your organization.
    2. On the Event Groups page, click anywhere in an event group row. The View Event Group page appears, displaying the details for the event group.
