Session Data Types and Filters

There are two ways to view Session data types and filters to define Session traffic information. You can view them on a dashboard or when analyzing charts on an Insights page. To learn more about how to analyze your Insights traffic, see Analyzing Traffic Using Insights.

On the Logs > Insights > Branch & Cloud Connectors > Session Insights page, select a data type to view from the menu above the chart and apply filters that you choose from the Add Filter menu on the left-side navigation.

Data Types and Filters

You can view the Session Insights based on the following data types:

  • AWS Account ID
  • Azure Subscription ID
  • Connector Group
  • Connector Instance
  • Forwarding Rule
  • Forwarding Type
  • Location
  • Overall Traffic
  • Platform
  • TS Direction
  • Traffic Direction
  • Traffic Type

Using the following filters, you can further drill down the Session Insights data that you want to view for any selected data type:

  • AWS Account ID: Limits the data to traffic associated with the AWS account ID.
  • AWS Availability Zone: Limits the data to traffic associated with the availability zone where Cloud Connector for AWS is deployed.
  • AWS Region: Limits the data to traffic associated with the location of your AWS cloud account.
  • Azure Availability Zone: Limits the data to traffic associated with the availability zone where Cloud Connector for Azure is deployed.
  • Azure Region: Limits the data to traffic associated with the location of your Azure cloud account.
  • Azure Subscription ID: Limits the data to traffic associated with the Azure subscription ID.
  • Connector Group: Limits the data to traffic associated with the Cloud or Branch Connector group.
  • Connector Instance: Limits the data to traffic associated with the specific Zscaler software instance.
  • Connector VM: Limits the data to traffic associated with the Cloud Connector virtual machine (VM) from which you want to view the session insights.
  • Forwarding Rule: Limits the data to traffic associated with the type of forwarding rule used.
  • Forwarding Type: Limits the data to traffic associated with the type of forwarding method used.
  • Location: Limits the data to a location's traffic.
  • Platform: Limits the data to traffic associated with the hypervisor or the cloud platform from which you want to see the session insights.
  • TS Direction: Limits the data to either transmitted (TX) or received (RX) traffic.
  • Traffic Direction: Limits the data to traffic associated with
  • Traffic Type: Limits the data to traffic associated with the type of traffic: ZIA, ZPA, or direct.
