About Zscaler Internet Access Gateways

Watch a video about ZIA gateways.

You can create gateway objects to configure the proxy gateway feature that enables you to forward traffic to Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA). A default ZIA gateway with a predefined primary and secondary proxy is automatically created.

ZIA gateways provide the following benefits and enable you to:

  • Grant users the ability to control the Zscaler data centers where the workload traffic is forwarded.
  • Allow users to choose the primary and backup Zscaler data centers to be used for specific workload locations.

About the ZIA Gateway Page

On the ZIA Gateway page (Administration > Gateways), you can do the following:

  1. Add a ZIA gateway.
  2. View a list of all gateways. For each gateway, you can view:
    • Gateway Name: The name of the gateway. You can sort this column.
    • Primary Proxy: The primary proxy for the gateway.
    • Secondary Proxy: The secondary proxy for the gateway.
    • Description: Additional notes or information about the gateway.
    • Fail Close: Whether fail close is enabled to drop the traffic or disabled to allow the traffic when both primary and secondary proxies defined in this gateway are unreachable.
  3. Edit a ZIA gateway.
  4. Delete a ZIA gateway.

You cannot delete the default ZIA gateway.

  5. Modify the table and its columns.
  6. Search for a gateway.
  7. Go to the Log and Control Gateway page.
  8. Go to the DNS Gateway page.
