How do I configure a One-Time Token or One-Time Link?

For background information on using one-time tokens or links, see About One-Time Tokens or Links.

To configure one-time token or one-time link as a temporary authentication method:

  1. Go to Administration > Authentication > Authentication Settings.
  2. In Temporary Authentication, Choose one of the following options:
    • One-Time Token: Sends the user a unique one-time password.
    • One-Time Link: Sends the user a unique link.
  3. Click Save.
  4. In Temporary Authentication, click Send Authentication E-mail, and do the following:
    • Send To: Choose whether the service sends the email to users or groups.
    • Users: Select the user(s) to which the service sends the authentication email.
    • Groups: Select the group(s) to which the service sends the authentication email.
  5. Click Send Credentials.
  6. Click Save and activate the change.

After your users receive the email, they can then log in to the service with the temporary authentication method:

The user can then use the temporary password to log in to the service. After the user enters the temporary password, the service displays a form requiring the user to enter a new password.
