How do I configure Google Chrome to use a PAC file?

How do I configure Google Chrome to use a PAC file?

To redirect your web traffic to the Zscaler cloud, you can configure your browser to use a Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) file. A PAC file is a text file that directs a browser to forward traffic to a proxy server before going to the destination server. The Zscaler service hosts a default PAC file that uses Geo-location technology to forward traffic to the nearest Zscaler Enforcement Node (ZEN).

To learn more, see How do I use default PAC files to forward traffic to the Zscaler service?

The following steps describe how to configure Google Chrome to use a PAC file. The browser version used in this example is Google Chrome 53.0.2785.143 m.

To view the default PAC file, log in to the service portal and follow the instructions below.

If you were provided a PAC file URL, skip the first two steps.

  1. Go to Administration > Resources > Hosted PAC Files.
  2. Copy the URL of the default PAC file for the Web.
