A DLP dictionary contains a set of patented algorithms that are designed to detect specific kinds of information in your users' traffic. The service provides the following predefined dictionaries:

  • Adult Content
  • Citizen Service Numbers (Netherlands)
  • Credit Cards
  • Financial Statements
  • Gambling
  • Illegal Drugs
  • Medical Information
  • Medicare Numbers (Australia)
  • Names (US)
  • National Insurance Numbers (UK)
  • NRIC Numbers (Singapore)
  • Salesforce.com Data
  • Social Insurance Numbers (Canada)
  • Social Security Numbers (US)
  • Source Code
  • Tax File Numbers (Australia)
  • Weapons

You can modify these predefined dictionaries or create custom dictionaries for content not covered by them. For example, you can create custom dictionaries that trigger based on specific patterns and phrases, or trigger based on exact data matching. To learn more, see Editing Predefined DLP Dictionaries and Adding Custom DLP Dictionaries.

Any combination of predefined and custom dictionaries can be added to a DLP engine, which is what you must reference when creating DLP policies. To learn more, see About DLP Engines.
