Viewing Application Details

The Application Details page (Application > Inventory > click on the application) provides a complete analysis and metrics for the application that is currently being used within your organization. You can view the engagement index, active and inactive user data, application plan details, licensing insights, and risk and compliance data, among other metrics.

The page contains an overview section and the following tabs:

  • In the Overview section, you can view:

    • Summary: A brief description of the application.
    • Capability: The various capabilities offered by the application. For example, Okta's capabilities include identity management, access control, two-factor authentication, etc.
    • Alternatives: A list of alternative applications with similar capabilities.
    • Website: The official website for the application.
    • Status: The connection status between Business Insights and the application (i.e., whether the application is onboarded to Business Insights or not). For connector-integrated apps, the application connector's API connection is valid or expired.
    • Data Source: The source from where the application usage is discovered (i.e., identity provider (IdP), Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), by connector integration, or custom application signature such as IDP, ZIA, CONNECTOR, or CUSTOM ZIA).
    • Sanction Status: Whether the application's use is sanctioned or not in your organization.
    • Risk Index: The risk index assigned to the application. This setting for the app is configured in the ZIA Admin Portal. To learn more, see About Cloud Applications and About Shadow IT Report.

The top-right of the page displays the Delete or Connect option based on whether the application is connected for Business Insights computation or not. To remove the app connection, click Delete. Click Connect to go to the Add Applications page, where you can configure a connector for the app. These options are available for connector-supported apps only.

  • On the Engagement Index & Users tab, you can view:

    Active and Inactive Users Graph

This graph shows the active vs. inactive user trend for the number of purchased license seats. Hover over a date on the graph to view the engagement index, number of purchased seats, and the number of active and inactive users along with their percentage increase or decrease. You can filter this tab for information for the last 30 days or 12 months.

    Users Table

The top of the Users table shows the number of purchased seats, assigned seats. Use the following operators to filter the table:

    • Select the time frame for viewing the data from the last 30, 60, or 90 days (last month, 2 months, or 3 months for the ZIA table).
    • Switch to view data from the tabs between Active Users or Inactive Users. By default, Active Users is selected.
    • Search for a specific user in the table.
    • Click Export to download the data for the preceding filters into a CSV file.

The table shows the top 100 records by user activity.

Depending on the application's data source—how the application usage is discovered within your organization (IDP or ZIA), if you have a connector configured with a supported app (CONNECTOR), or if you have a custom application signature configured (CUSTOM ZIA) —one of the following Users tables appears:
